One of the most important aspects of the World Wide Web is its dynamic nature. HaulBikes.com embraced this characteristic by chartering the design of a new template for their website. This was no small task, however, as HaulBikes.com has over 150 pages in their site.
This is where Argos came in to the picture. We undertook a massive migration effort to copy all the content of HaulBikes.com's existing website into the new template structure while retaining formatting and internal links. All pages were ported, and the customer couldn't be happier with the result.
eBay Quote Database
As a part of HaulBikes expansion into the Web, the company partnered with eBay to become a featured provider of shipping services for the motorcycle section of eBay Motors. To facilitate this role, HaulBikes needed an XML-based web service implemented to interface with eBay's system. We took the specification provided by eBay and implemented a scalable, secure, and reliable web service to fit the customer's needs.
Now that HaulBikes could supply eBay customers with shipping quotes, the next step was to provide HaulBikes' sales agents with the data from each quote to enable them to close the transactions with the customers. To accomplish this, Argos implemented high-performance database indexing to parse the nearly 1 million records already collected just three months after launching the web service. We created a simple, usable web portal for sales agents to search for quotes by a number of criteria. This system has enabled HaulBikes to thrive in a Web-enabled economy.
